S98-05016 (4/14/98) -- At Houston's Johnson Space Center, President Bill Clinton looks at a monitor while communicating long distance with the STS-90 crew preparing for a launch in two days at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Others pictured, in near background, are (from the left) NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin, U.S. Sen. John H. Glenn Jr. (D.-Ohio) and JSC Director George W.S. Abbey. Clinton addressed the importance of the the Neurolab mission and asked the crew commander--astronaut Richard A. Searfoss--to profile the mission's objectives for the press corps accompanying the president on his JSC visit.
